Pablo Lago Dantas was born in Pontevedra in 1980. He is a cinematographer with 18 years of experience in the audio-visual sector. He began his studies in photography in 2000 at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts, in Santiago de Compostela, where he began to carry out his first jobs as a social and studio photographer.
In 2008 he graduated in Audio-visual Communication from the University of Salamanca, while working as a camera operator in Canal 4 and Localia Vigo. That same year, he completed the Postgraduate and Master in Cinematography at ESCAC (Escola Superior de Cinema I Audiovisuals de Catalunya). In 2018/19 he completed the Master in Creative Documentary at UPF.
Among narrative projects, music videos, and commercial spots, he has worked as a cinematographer in more than 40 projects that have had more than 100 official international selections. Some of his more highlights are “The six degrees of freedom”, a documentary produced by Colibrí Studio, nominated for best cinematography at energaCamerimage 2019, and winner of the special mention award at FICUNAM 2019, among other awards. «Coda Sacra», a short film produced by Alter Films, premiered at Sitges International Festival of Fantastic Film of Catalonia 2018, which received the AWARD GOLD at the Queen Palm International Film Festival 2019, the AWARD SILVER at the Independent Short Awards Los Angeles (April 2019 ), or the AWARD OF MERIT in the Best Short Competition (2019), among other awards. Beautiful Colors, fashion film produced by Kill the Film, nominated for Best Cinematography at the Cinematographer’s Showcase, presented at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival or Berlin Commercial 2019, as well as at the fashion film festivals in Los Angeles, Rome, New York, Athens or Istanbul, among many others. «Come back to you», produced by Kill the Film, nominated for the Best Cinematography at Music Video Underground Los Angeles 2017, presented at MTV Dance Australia 2017 and winner of several awards.
